SAINTS have confirmed the date of their Carabao Cup second round clash with Brentford.
Ralph Hasenhuttl’s side will take on the Bees on Wednesday, September 16 (7.45pm).
Championship Brentford narrowly missed out on a place in the Premier League last season, having been edged out in the play-off final against Fulham at Wembley.
The third-round draw of the competition has also taken place.
Should Saints get past Brentford, they will head to either Premier League rivals West Bromwich Albion or League Two new boys Harrogate Town.
Third round ties are set to take place on either September 22 or 23.
Saints beat Fulham and Portsmouth to reach the fourth round of last year's Carabao Cup, before losing to Manchester City.
