SAINTS are reportedly interested in signing Toulouse midfielder Ibrahim Sangare.
Sky Sports claim the 22-year-old is one of a number of midfielders the St Mary’s side are looking at to replace former skipper Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg, who joined Tottenham in the summer.
Holding midfielder Sangare, who has represented Ivory Coast at under-23 level, has made 86 senior appearances for Toulouse, scoring twice and registering five assists.
Sky also claim Ralph Hasenhuttl’s side are also interested in a loan deal for Everton’s Tom Davies, although the Merseyside club are thought to prefer a permanent move.
The Athletic also report Saints are monitoring the situation regarding a possible loan deal for Chelsea’s Ruben Loftus-Cheek, should he become available.
As well as Hojbjerg’s departure, Saints also sold Harrison Reed to Fulham, with Mario Lemina also joining the Cottagers on a season-long loan.
Hasenhuttl has strengthened his squad defensively this summer, with the additions of Kyle Walker-Peters and Mohammed Salisu.
