SAINTS striker Shane Long played 74 minutes of the Republic of Ireland’s drab 0-0 draw with Wales in the Nations League.
The 33-year-old was eventually replaced by Sean Maguire, as James McClean’s red card meant the hosts were left to battle with 10 men for the final seven minutes at Aviva Stadium.
Ireland, who lost five more players on the eve of Sunday’s game as a result of COVID-19 protocols after one unnamed member of the squad had tested positive, had chances to win a scruffy encounter.
However, striker Long and substitute Daryl Horgan passed up the best of them as the spoils were shared.
Long could be involved when Stephen Kenny’s side make the trip to Finland on Wednesday.
