PROMISING striker Dan N’Lundulu further staked his claim for a place in Ralph Hasenhuttl’s plans after rattling in a hat-trick for Saints B on Saturday.
The 21-year-old spearheaded the hosts’ attack as they overcame Manchester City 5-2 at Staplewood.
There were also goals for full-back Jake Vokins and Will Ferry as Dave Horseman’s side sealed an impressive victory over the Citizens in Premier League Two.
N’Lundulu, who was an unused substitute in Saints’ 2-0 victory over Newcastle on Friday, took just six minutes to opening the scoring after latching on to Nathan Tella’s pass and rifling into the net.
He then added his second when following in after his initial header was well saved.
Vokins headed in another after a pinpoint cross from Yan Valery to put Horseman’s side well in command.
A classy finish from Republic of Ireland under-21 international Ferry, after a sublime backheel from Tella, then made it 4-0 in Saints’ favour just past the hour mark.
Morgan Rogers drilled into the bottom corner from the edge of the box for the visitors two minutes later but N’Lundulu soon had his hat-trick.
He showed neat composure inside the box to slot home Vokins’s cross and wrap up the contest.
Rogers did get his second late on but it was not to matter as Saints ran out comfortable winners.
