SAINTS defender Jan Bednarek paid the penalty as Poland were beaten 2-1 by the Netherlands in the Nations League.
The Poles took an early lead when Kamil Jóźwiak’s superb solo goal put them ahead after just five minutes.
But the Dutch were given a lifeline when Saints centre-half Bednarek was judged to have fouled Liverpool’s Georginio Wijnaldum inside the box.
Memphis Depay kept his cool from the spot to level up the contest at 1-1.
And the visitors found a winner when Wijnaldum headed in from a corner six minutes from time.
Poland finished the campaign third in the Group A1 table.
