SAINTS goalkeeper Angus Gunn is set for a spell on the sidelines due to an ankle injury, according to a report in The Sun.

Gunn, who joined Stoke City on loan last month, has made four appearances for the Potters, keeping two clean sheets.

But the 24-year-old could now miss out for up to six weeks, with the report claiming Stoke are seeking an emergency replacement.

Gunn made his Stoke debut as a substitute for Wales stopper Adam Davies, who is still nursing a knee problem.

The Championship Potters have this afternoon recalled England under-21 stopper Josef Bursik from a loan spell at Doncaster Rovers to ease their goalkeeper crisis.

Stoke sold Jack Butland to Crystal Palace during the last transfer window, with Cameroon youth international Blondy Nna Noukeu and teenager Nathan Broome the only other goalkeepers on standby in the squad.
