EASTLEIGH were forced to settle for two points from their two festive fixtures after goalless draws against both Weymouth and Woking.

The Spitfires, who are now winless in five matches in all competitions, hosted the struggling Terras on Boxing Day.

And they looked the most likely scorers throughout the contest.

Captain Joe Partington struck a post early on, before striker Ben House was guilty of missing two glaring opportunities to break the deadlock.

Goalkeeper Joe McDonnell had to be alert to thwart Weymouth's Jack Hoey at the other end and with the game locked at 0-0, Tyrone Barnett could not convert late on to snatch victory.

And it was a similar story on Bank Holiday Monday.

Travelling to mid-table Woking, boss Ben Strevens made a host of changes to his side but again could not find the breakthrough.

Barnett failed to work goalkeeper Craig Ross with a couple of early efforts before Danny Hollands's overhead kick teed up Cav Miley, who almost acrobatically turned in, but Ross made the stop.

The Cards came close to taking the lead after the break, with McDonnell making a brilliant double stop.

At the other end Hollands had a shot cleared off the line as the spoils were shared.

Eastleigh begin 2021 by heading to Weymouth for their return league fixture on Saturday (3pm).
