SAINTS are set to be boosted by the return of Danny Ings for Saturday's FA Cup contest against Arsenal.

The striker has not featured since netting the winning goal against Liverpool on January 4, after contracting coronavirus.

Ings remains Saints' top scorer this season, with seven goals from 14 appearances.

Asked for team news ahead of the visit of the Gunners, boss Ralph Hasenhuttl said: "Out of the match, still a lot of players. An option for the weekend is Danny Ings.

"He is coming back and I rested a few players on Tuesday (against Shrewsbury) so there are also a few other opportunities for the weekend."

Discussing the importance of Ings's return, Hasenhuttl added: "The first thing that’s important is after the injury he had and now the COVID he had that he is now available again.

"It is important for our game, definitely. He’s important for our game, we try to bring him into the position he can score again and help us.

"Being available means that we have more options in the front."

Saints still look set to be without a host of players this weekend, including Jannik Vestergaard, Oriol Romeu and Moussa Djenepo.
