SAINTS have now reportedly had a loan approach for Liverpool youngster Neco Williams turned down.
The Daily Echo understands bringing in a defender is a priority for the St Mary’s side, with three hours left until tonight’s 11pm transfer deadline.
Sky Sports claim Saints have had a loan approach turned down by the Reds for youngster Williams, who has played 11 times for the top-flight champions this season.
Ralph Hasenhuttl’s men have today also been linked with Tottenham’s Japhet Tanganga and Arsenal’s Ainsley Maitland-Niles.
The Austrian boss said last week he was looking to add a full-back to his squad before the window slammed shut.
