SKIPPER James Ward-Prowse is dreaming of another shot at Wembley glory with Saints this year, as full focus turns back to the FA Cup.

While Saints have struggled for results in the Premier League, losing their last four matches, Ralph Hasenhuttl's men have seen off both Shrewsbury Town and Arsenal without conceding to move into round five of the cup.

They head to Wolves tomorrow, knowing victory would take them within one game of a Wembley semi-final as the club continue their quest for a first FA Cup trophy since 1976.

Asked if he has pictured in his mind the idea of lifting the cup at Wembley, now that he is Saints captain, Ward-Prowse told the Daily Echo: "Yeah, I mean the FA Cup is such a special competition isn’t it?

"To be able to do that would be a dream come true.

"I had a bit of a taste of it with the EFL Cup final (in 2017), losing out on that one. To get back to Wembley and do that would be for sure a career highlight and a dream come true."

Saints have in the past 12 months defeated the best clubs the country have to offer in Liverpool and Manchester City.

And Ward-Prowse is confident the side can raise their game to match anybody thrown at them during this cup run.

"We believe in the way we play and facing any opponent," he said.

"It doesn’t matter what line-up they put out, whether it’s a League Two team, League One, Championship, Premier League, we believe in what we’re doing. As long as we apply ourselves right we can beat any team."

Ward-Prowse has played every minute in league and cup for Saints so far this season, scoring five goals.
