RALPH Hasenhuttl insists Saints "want to go for the FA Cup" this season after booking their spot in the quarter-finals with an impressive win at Wolves.

Goals from Danny Ings and Stuart Armstrong secured victory, setting up a tasty quarter-final trip to neighbours Bournemouth next month.

The 2-0 success ended a run of four straight defeats for Hasenhuttl's men.

"We had not such as easy time in the last few weeks with tough games and then it is important to win and I think today I saw a team that, although it was not always perfect, they were very convinced about what they were doing," said Hasenhuttl.

"Dominated the game from the first minute, created chances, not so many but against this team it is always difficult because they are well organised and don’t give you a lot of chances. In the end I think we deserved to win today."

Asked how big a boost this win will give his side, boss Hasenhuttl added: "We are still in the cup, it’s fantastic.

"This season we are in a better position in the table in the Premier League so can focus on this cup. We picked the best team today and we want to go for the FA Cup."
