RALPH Hasenhuttl insisted he had not considered keeping Fraser Forster in Saints’ starting XI despite his clean sheet heroics.
Forster pulled off a fine save to deny Adama Traore in Saints’ 2-0 FA Cup victory at Wolves on Thursday.
The 32-year-old is yet to concede a goal this season in three cup games and a solitary Premier League contest against Liverpool.
He remains the club’s cup keeper, with Alex McCarthy first choice in the league.
Asked whether he had considered keeping Forster in for more league games, Hasenhuttl said: “No. I have seen the games and I cannot see many mistakes from Alex.
“In the last game (against Newcastle) there was one, the third goal wasn’t looking good.
“But with the other two, there was no chance to make a save. He kept us so often in games this season.”
