RALPH Hasenhuttl insisted he did not have “anything different” to say on Danny Ings’s contract situation – as he prepares his side for Saturday’s home clash with Chelsea.
Speculation has mounted as to whether the forward will sign a new deal at St Mary’s, with his current contract set to run out in the summer of 2022.
Ings netted the opener in Saints’ 2-1 loss against Wolves last week – the defeat condemning Hasenhuttl’s men to their sixth straight league loss.
And when asked about Ings’s contract situation ahead of the battle against the Blues, the boss insisted it was not “on the topic this week”.
“I cannot tell you anything different now,” he said.
“It wasn’t on the topic this week to be honest. I have other things to concentrate on.”
England international Ings has scored 42 times for Saints, having played 88 games for the club in all competitions.
