TAKUMI Minamino has joined Saints' ever-growing injury list due to a hamstring problem suffered against Leeds.

The Liverpool loanee began the game at Elland Road on the bench, coming on for the final 32 minutes.

And while Minamino finished the game, boss Ralph Hasenhuttl confirmed he will not be available to face Everton on Monday evening.

"Taki Minamino is out for the weekend with a light muscle injury," said Hasenhuttl.

"Hamstring, slight problem in the hamstring. He maybe comes back next week. It is not a big injury."

Asked if the problem occurred during the 3-0 loss on Tuesday, Hasenhuttl said: "He slipped away. We rested him from the beginning because we knew that three games in a week after having not played for so long would be too much for him.

"That was the reason we kept him at first on the bench and wanted to sub him in.

"It was very slippery, the pitch was not good at Leeds, and after the first movement I think he struggled with his hamstring.

"He still finished the game because we couldn't change anymore, but it was definitely not perfect."

Minamino joins the likes of Oriol Romeu, Ibrahima Diallo, Theo Walcott, Michael Obafemi and Will Smallbone in the treatment room.
