SAINTS are "in pursuit" of Newcastle United winger Jacob Murphy, according to Football Insider.
The website claims Saints are eyeing up a summer move for the 26-year-old, with a reported asking price of £3million.
Murphy has featured 24 times for Newcastle this season, scoring three times, including in their 2-1 win at Burnley on Sunday.
The report states Saints, along with Championship high-fliers Watford and Scottish champions Rangers, are all keen on the former Norwich City youngster.
Discussing his summer transfer plans last week, Saints boss Ralph Hasenhuttl said: "The players we want to sign are very seldom players in the £20million or £30m register, this is what we don't need for us as a club.
"We are looking for players around the £10m, or even lower if possible. There are some good value valuable players around that. And this we have to find and this we have to pick."
