BOSS Ralph Hasenhuttl insists the sacking of Jose Mourinho “changes everything” ahead of his team’s trip to Tottenham on Wednesday (6pm).

Spurs today announced they had parted ways with the Portuguese boss just two days before the Premier League showdown and less than a week before their Carabao Cup final.

Mourinho has paid the price for a disappointing campaign, with Spurs currently seventh in the Premier League and with little chance of making the top four.

Reacting to his opposite number’s departure, Hasenhuttl said: “He is maybe the most successful manager in the moment, winning the most titles so far. What can you say?

“He has such a big impact on English football so far.

“He hadn’t had a very good year with Tottenham, to be honest, they are below what they try to achieve.

“They had a good start to the season and then for some reasons, injuries, a little bit similar to us, he dropped back and then - yeah - these are the normal rules in football.

“When you’re not successful you’re under pressure as a manager and there’s the moment when the club decides to sack you.”

Saints are set to head to north London looking to bounce back after losing 1-0 to Leicester in the FA Cup semi-final on Sunday.

Asked how disruptive a change of manager can be to preparations, the Austrian boss said: “It changes everything.

“Because everything you normally tell your players, what they have to expect, from one day to the next, is not there anymore.

“It would have been even (more) difficult because we know they have a big game at the weekend, so to find the right squad for the Wednesday game.

“We have a few hours to concentrate for this and we will try to find a team which is fit enough to compete against them.”

Hasenhuttl confirmed there were no fresh injury concerns in his squad ahead of the encounter.
