BOSS Ralph Hasenhuttl revealed Oriol Romeu and Danny Ings could be back available for selection with Saints next week and added: “It’s important that they maybe are coming back before the end of the season.”

Spaniard Romeu has not featured since a 3-0 defeat against Leeds United at Elland Road in February, where he suffered a fractured ankle.

He underwent surgery to repair the problem but could be back sooner than expected.

Ings is recovering from a hamstring injury picked up during last month’s 2-1 defeat to Tottenham.

Saints host Crystal Palace in the Premier League on Tuesday before a home clash with Fulham on Saturday, May 15.

Asked for an injury update ahead of this Saturday’s trip to Liverpool, Hasenhuttl said: “We have Ingsy still not available, still with problems. Hopefully we will find him back next week.

“Oriol Romeu is back on the training pitch tomorrow – he has a scan, the last one and then we can have a look if he is okay to start with the team next week.

“Ryan Bertrand is still out with a calf injury. Michael Obafemi is still in training and everything is still okay so far.”

Quizzed further on the returns of Romeu and Ings, the Austrian manager replied: “We have a game against Palace on Tuesday so we will have a look if it’s possible. It’s a little bit short but we will have a look.

“It’s important that they maybe are coming back before the end of the season because there are five more games coming up. It’s good when they are available.”
