MANAGER Ralph Hasenhuttl revealed Saints defender Jan Bednarek had a problem with his leg, which played a part in him being taken off against Crystal Palace.
The Poland international was replaced at half-time by Mohammed Salisu at St Mary’s.
Bednarek had also picked up a caution during the clash with the Eagles, after a foul on Wilfried Zaha.
Asked to clarify the reason for replacing Bednarek at the interval, Hasenhuttl said: “Yellow card and he had a little bit of a problem with his leg also.
“That was the reason why we changed.”
Saints went on to seal a 3-1 victory over the Eagles, thanks to Danny Ings’s brace and a goal from Che Adams.
