SAINTS are set to begin their 2021-22 Premier League campaign with a trip to Everton.
Ralph Hasenhuttl's men will head to Goodison Park on the weekend of August 14.
Everton are currently without a manager following Carlo Ancelotti's departure to join Real Madrid.
The Toffees beat Saints at Goodison Park 1-0 in March thanks to a goal from Richarlison.
Saints have not won an away league trip against Everton since 1997 when goals from Matt Le Tissier and Kevin Davies secured a 2-0 victory.
Since then they have lost 11 times, drawing five.
Following that trip to Merseyside, Saints' first match at St Mary's will be against Manchester United the following weekend, before a long trip to Newcastle.
The traditional Boxing Day fixture sees Ralph Hasenhuttl's charges travel to West Ham United.
Saints will begin 2022 with a home clash against Newcastle on New Year's Day.
The campaign will round off with a trip Leicester City on May 22.
The St Mary’s side have not won on the opening day of the league campaign since the 2013-14 season, when Rickie Lambert scored a 90th-minute penalty to seal a 1-0 away win at West Bromwich Albion.
Since then, the Hampshire side have suffered defeats to Liverpool, Burnley and Crystal Palace in their league curtain-raiser – as well as draws against Newcastle, Watford, Swansea and Burnley.
After a strong start, Saints tumbled to a 15th-placed Premier League finish last season.
