SAINTS' B team have cancelled an upcoming friendly with Crawley Town due to a COVID-19 outbreak in the camp, the League Two club have announced.
Dave Horseman's side were due to travel to the People's Pension Stadium next week, to face Crawley's first team in a pre-season contest on July 20.
However, a short statement from Crawley read: "Crawley Town Football Club can confirm that its scheduled pre-season friendly fixture against Southampton U23 has been cancelled due to a COVID-19 outbreak in the Saints camp."
The Daily Echo understands some of the Saints youngsters are now self-isolating following a positive COVID-19 test within the group, meaning several players would have been unable to feature in the pre-season contest against Crawley.
Saints B are now set to get their pre-season campaign underway against AFC Totton at Snows Stadium on Tuesday, July 27.
