WATCHING National League football is cheaper at Eastleigh than anywhere else in the country, with the lowest-priced season tickets of all 23 clubs in the professional division – in every category.

Manager Ben Strevens and his Spitfires side narrowly missed out on reaching the play-offs last season, following a final-day defeat at Solihull Moors, and has since improved his squad with a number of additions from the Football League and elsewhere.

They’ll be targeting a top seven finish with the likes of key forward Ben House signing a new contract to stay with the team for the 2021-22 campaign.

The return of fan favourite defender Josh Hare and permanent signings of former Saints man Jake Hesketh and experienced winger Harry Pritchard look to be the pick of the bunch regarding their transfer dealings.

Early bird prices started at just £150 for adults, guaranteeing 22 games at the Silverlake Stadium should government restrictions not re-emerge, having now risen to £180 following the end of early bird sales.

Concessions, including over-60s, NHS, emergency services and armed forces, started at £100 (now £120), while students could have secured all 22 home games for £50 (£70).

Juniors aged 16 and below needed to part with just £30 (£50) and children 11 & under is absolutely free for the whole season. All current rates are still the cheapest of all National League teams.

By comparison, the most expensive season tickets will set adult fans back £400 at Chesterfield and Notts County – that’s £220 more than the Spitfires’ most current rate.

The Silverlake has been boosted with a brand-new pitch laid over the summer too, after some games were disrupted by poor weather in recent seasons – including the televised BT Sport clash against eventually promoted Hartlepool United.

But now the Spitfires will have an all new surface to compete on when they welcome Hollywood-owned Wrexham for their season opener on Saturday August 28.
