SOUTHAMPTON'S Richard Bland shot a three under 68 in today's first round of the Joburg Open in South Africa to be tied 13th going into tomorrow's second round.
The 34-year-old, who regained his European Tour card last November, birdied the second, sixth, eighth and 14th holes at Royal Johannesburg and Kensington Golf Club, dropping his only shot on the 12th to be three off the lead.
Bland has made the cut in his previous two European Tout events of the season and lies 75th on the order of merit.
