SAINTS picked up a first Premier League clean sheet since March but couldn’t find a way through West Ham’s defence, despite Armando Broja stealing the show.
The 20-year-old on-loan Chelsea striker almost scored twice after the post and a goalline intervention denied him a first Saints strike.
Michail Antonio saw red after he was left frustrated at losing out the physical battle to Jack Stephens and Mohammed Salisu all afternoon – but even that caused controversy as referee David Coote called play to a stop to dish out the card, while Saints were countering.
The result means Saints have put three points on the board in four Premier League games, and haven’t lost since the opening day collapse at Everton.

Thought that the back 4 where immense today. Broja came on and made an impact. Armstrong looked a bit lost up top on his own. A good point and performance against a decent team #saintsfc

How much for Broja then?#CFC #SaintsFC

That is exactly why we signed Mohammed Salisu and why he is so highly rated. Absolutely bullied Antonio all game with his strength and pace. I’ll say it again, he’s going to be some player. #SaintsFC

Frustrating not to win but important to stand up to West Ham and compete with them physically. Broja looks a player and needs to start and Stephens/Salisu are our best centre back pairing Happy with the point in the end #SaintsFC pic.twitter.com/LYpQFYmhpR

Last season we would have lost this game. A solid performance 👊🏻 Could and should have won but I’ll take the point! #saintsfc #SOUWHU
