LEAGUE leaders AFC Totton scored eight as they registered a huge 8-1 victory over Cinderford Town in Gloucestershire, writes Doug Taxil-Webber.
Totton started the brightest, despite a fragmented start to the game, with Sam Griffin volleying over from close range.
The breakthrough came in spectacular fashion with Jordan Ngalo driving the ball in from 30 yards for the visitors.
Shortly after, the Stags doubled their lead as Ethan Taylor was upended in the box, with Brett Williams converting the penalty with ease.
In the second half, the floodgates opened as Totton ran riot, scoring five goals in 13 minutes through Williams, Taylor and Griffin as well as a brace from Jack Hoey.
Freddie Read added an eighth before the hosts grabbed a consolation.
Glenn Howes’s side are top of Southern League Division One south, with 16 points from their opening six league games.
