JAMES Ward-Prowse became only the ninth outfield player in Premier League history to make 100 consecutive appearances when he led the team out at Manchester City on Saturday.

The ever-present Saints skipper hasn’t missed a minute of action for Saints for over two seasons, and but for one substitute appearance against West Ham in May 2019, his run of starting every Premier League game would date back as far as December 2018.

Ward-Prowse, 26, has played well over 300 games for the club and scored on 34 occasions, assisting even more than that. His Premier League goal tally stands at 31 in 274 appearances.

The former, and hopefully future, England international has sealed his future as a Saints player, signing a brand-new five year deal that will keep him with the club until 2026 this summer – despite already having four years left on his last contract.

He will no doubt look to add to his eight caps and solitary international goal in that time, if he can force his way into Gareth Southgate’s plans.
