RICHARD Bland followed up an opening 68 with a three over 74 on Royal Johannesburg and Kensington Golf Club's monster 7,590-yard East Course to slip from tied 13th to outside the top 50 after today's second round of the Joburg Open.
However, the Southampton player still made the cut - his third in three European Tour starts - to give himself a chance of climbing back up the field over the weekend and earn a decent cheque in the process.
The 34-year-old's only birdie came at the ninth, while shots were dropped on the fourth, fifth, 13th and 14th holes.
Home player Mark Murless was at the top of the leaderboard on -9, while Northern Ireland's Darren Clarke followed up a disappointing 73 on the 7,119-yard West Course with a brilliant 65 on the East Course to move up to 14th (-4).
