ENGLAND’S World Cup Qualifier and James Ward-Prowse’s potential return to Three Lions action could be disrupted after a fire broke out in Andorra’s stadium.

The fire at the Estadi Nacional burst into life while Sky Sports were doing a live report and although it has now been brought under control, the impacts on tomorrow evening’s game are as of yet unclear.

Journalist Rob Dorsett was doing a piece to camera discussing Gareth Southgate’s team selection for tomorrow night’s match before realising the fire was growing across the pitch to him.

Within moments the gantry was taken hold of by the flames as black smoke poured out of the small building on the side of the pitch.

Saints skipper Ward-Prowse was reintroduced to the England squad by manager Southgate for the first time since June, when he then missed out on the European Championships.

With Andorra and Hungary to come during this October break, it is likely that if Ward-Prowse was to feature it would be versus the footballing minnows tomorrow.

The Estadi Nacional features a synthetic pitch and the fire, which engulfed the gantry and lots of camera equipment, was right next to the surface – potentially causing significant damage.

The stadium is also in a residential area, with a block of flats built right up against the area of the ground which was engulfed in flames.

We will look to bring updates on the situation of the game as soon as they come.
