RALPH Hasenhuttl insists he is not normally a superstitious man, but admits there is a danger that may be about to change!

The Saints boss has alternated his matchday attire this season between a tracksuit for some games, while on others opting for a white shirt and waistcoat combination.

Hasenhuttl went for the latter for yesterday's visit of Leeds United to St Mary's, overseeing his side's first league victory of the season as Armando Broja scored the only goal.

It was the fourth time this season Hasenhuttl has donned the waistcoat, which is quickly becoming a lucky garment.

Saints remain unbeaten in that time, including a 1-1 draw with Manchester United before goalless stalemates with West Ham United and Manchester City, before seeing off Leeds.

Asked if he is a superstitious man given the waistcoat's impressive record, Hasenhuttl said: "Normally not. The danger is big now that I become one!"

The Austrian then joked he will "maybe" have to stick with the waistcoat for next week's visit of Burnley.

Discussing the victory as a whole and whether it has lifted some pressure on him as boss, Hasenhuttl said: "It’s not really lifted pressure because we always have pressure as a Premier League manager.

"You have one day where you have no pressure, and that’s after the season. The first day.

"The rest, everybody is hunting for the targets.

"Everybody is hunting for wins and we had, I think, much better performances in the first seven games than results, now we have the first win.

"We have had big blows where we have played quite well, this time it worked and we take it."
