NATHAN Redmond has been ruled out of Saints action with a positive Covid-19 test, it has been revealed ahead of kick-off against Aston Villa.
The Saints attacker has not been spotted in training this week and his absence is explained by the contraction of the virus.
Redmond was a starter in Saints' win over Watford last time out, but was replaced by Stuart Armstrong in the lineup for the Villa clash.
The statement from the club confirms that Redmond is okay and well, but it as at home for the duration of his recovery as per Government guidelines.
With the international break coming up, Redmond will likely be available for selection immediately beyond this fixture.
