EASTLEIGH have confirmed that on-loan Bristol City centre-back Joe Low has returned to his parent club with immediate effect.

The 19-year-old defender was due to stay with the Hampshire side until January but has been recalled by the Championship outfit after making eight appearances for the club.

The Robins’ club legend and head of academy Brian Tinnion explained to the Daily Echo how the youngster is held in high regard in the South-West.

He told us: “If Joe hadn’t have been injured last year, he had a lot of injuries last season that knocked him back a bit, he might have been around the first-team squad.

Tinnion added: “I heard that Eastleigh were looking for a centre-half so I got them to watch us against Hungerford in a pre-season friendly, I think Ben Strevens came and watched and Joe played really well, so he was really impressed.

“Ben rang me the next day and said he’d be really interested in taking Joe and it went from there.”

The National League club released a statement, saying: “We would like to thank Joe for his efforts during his time at the club and wish him all the best for his future career.”
