EASTLEIGH travel to Yeovil Town following their FA Cup exit and captain Danny Hollands has revealed how the side are using specific block targets to try and turn their difficult start into success.
The Spitfires are 13th and seven points off the National League playoffs 13 games into their season, but have a game in hand and have won three of their last four.
Ben Strevens’s Hampshire outfit picked up a first clean sheet of the campaign with a 1-0 victory over Maidenhead last time out in the league, backing up wins against Altrincham and Wealdstone also in October.
There has been a change in the squad with loanee centre-back Joe Low returning to parent club Bristol City early, having struck a deal to stay with the Spitfires until January initially.
And skipper Hollands will want to bounce back from a 2-0 defeat to fellow National League side Boreham Wood in the FA Cup first round last Saturday.
Speaking to the Daily Echo, he said: “We didn’t start off great in terms of points, but last five games or so we’ve got a lot better.
“We’ve set ourselves targets, split the league into sections that we’re trying to hit targets in each seven games, and if we do that we will be in and amongst it.
“But as I say we’ve got a few points to catch up from the first one but we’ve done a lot better in this period so hopefully that continues.
“We need to win one of the next two games to hit our target for this seven-game block.”
