MIDFIELDER Georgie Freeland is looking to make more FA Cup memories with Saints Women after helping them into the third round.

The Saints academy graduate struck twice in Sunday’s 7-0 victory over Ilminster Town, with Leeta Rutherford also netting a double.

Goals from Ella Morris, Sophia Pharoah and youngster Sky Bedwell also came for the visitors, who reached the last 16 of the competition last season before being knocked out by Birmingham City.

Speaking to the club website, Freeland said: “I think league takes priority this year but the FA Cup is a time to experience amazing things like we did last year.

“I am very happy. I wanted to get on the scoresheet because I feel like I have been lacking goals so far this season.

“So I am happy to get on the scoresheet.”

Victory ensured Saints Women responded following their 2-0 defeat to title rivals Ipswich in Women’s National League South a week previously.

“I think in the season it’s how you bounce back and win games after you come back from a loss,” said Freeland.

“I think we did well to get a good amount of goals against a team like this”

Meanwhile, Eastleigh Ladies’ historic FA Cup run came to an end with a 5-0 defeat at the hands of Exeter City at Silverlake Stadium.
