MANAGER Ralph Hasenhuttl admitted he was looking for a “reset button to be pushed” in a bid to reverse Saints’ current faltering Premier League form.

The St Mary’s outfit had taken 10 points from a possible 12 before back-to-back defeats against strugglers Norwich and title-chasing Liverpool.

And the Austrian boss, whose side host Leicester in the Premier League on Wednesday, admitted he was keen to sure up his side defensively after conceding six times in two games.

Asked what his charges needed to work on, Hasenhuttl said: “I think the clean sheets we had in the beginning of the season, or five so far, the last two games we conceded too easy the goals.

“I think this is again a reset button to be pushed - to come back to what made us strong in this time when we had been unbeaten for four games.

“Especially in the next games coming up it's important that we first come from a very stable defence, work and, yeah, we are not a team that scores five or six goals in a game.

“But we are a team that can win a game by hard work and bringing it on our side and this is what we have to do now again.”

Saints are set to face a Foxes outfit currently 10th in the Premier League.

Brendan Rodgers’s side overcame Watford 4-2 at King Power Stadium on Sunday, thanks to a double from Jamie Vardy, along with strikes from James Maddison and Ademola Lookman.

“Everybody knows that they have some threats in the offensive lines with Vardy and a few other players, a lot of alternatives there,” said the Saints manager, when asked about the visitors.

“But I think after a not such a good run in the beginning they are getting more and more stabilised, a lot of games in the past with a Europa League and the Premier League all the time playing three games a week, so they're coming out a little bit more rhythm I think.

“A super tough opponent and we have to have a good game.”

Saints are currently 15th in the league table, five points above the relegation places.
