SAINTS will be without both Oriol Romeu and Mohammed Salisu for Saturday's trip to Arsenal.

The pair each received their fifth bookings of the season during the weekend's 1-1 draw with Brighton.

Salisu picked up a careless yellow card after delaying a quick Seagulls free-kick with around 10 minutes of normal time to play.

Romeu was then cautioned for a costly late trip on Enock Mwepu. From that resulting free-kick deep into stoppage time, Brighton equalised.

Salisu has played in 17 of Saints' 18 league and cup games this season, but will now sit out the clash at the Emirates, before being available to return against Crystal Palace on December 15.

His absence, coupled with Jan Bednarek struggling with a calf injury, could open the door for Jack Stephens to return to the side. The 27-year-old was back on the bench against Brighton, after recovering from a hamstring tendon injury, with Lyanco partnering Salisu.

Romeu, who has been booked three times in the past five fixtures, has also played 17 games so far this season.

As well as the suspended duo, Saints could also be without both Alex McCarthy and Fraser Forster, the goalkeeping pair having picked up injuries.

No other players in the squad are yet walking the suspension tightrope, with Kyle Walker-Peters, Moussa Djenepo and Bednarek having each been booked three times in the Premier League.
