CHE Adams has emerged as an injury doubt for Saturday's trip to Arsenal.
The striker has played a key role for Saints this season, starting 11 of the club's 15 Premier League matches.
But boss Ralph Hasenhuttl revealed the Scotland international this week pulled up in training and will have to be assessed before the clash with the Gunners.
"Che Adams stopped in the session yesterday," Hasenhuttl told the Daily Echo.
"We will have a look what is with him, if he can play or not, we will see."
Jan Bednarek and Stuart Armstrong both missed last weekend's 1-1 draw with Brighton with calf injuries.
Discussing the pair's fitness, Hasenhuttl added: "Jan Bednarek is back available.
"Stuey Armstrong at the moment is not part of the squad.
"We have to bring him back fit on the pitch and hopefully he is coming back soon."
Hasenhuttl also confirmed goalkeeping duo Alex McCarthy and Fraser Forster will miss out this weekend due to injury.
Mohammed Salisu and Oriol Romeu will each serve one-match bans after picking up their fifth yellow cards of the season last weekend.
