ARMANDO Broja has admitted that he knows “you need to send messages to everywhere,” but insists he is just focussing on his game while on loan at Saints.

The Albanian international has been subject of a media frenzy for over a week, since manager Ralph Hasenhuttl revealed that he will ask Sport Republic if Saints can keep the youngster at the club.

Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel responded by telling Broja he needs to keep making a statement with the St Mary’s outfit, where he is currently set to remain on loan just for the rest of the campaign.

The 20-year-old now potentially has the world at his feet after a stellar breakout season, harbouring five Premier League goals already – the same as £100million Blues frontman Romelu Lukaku.

Asked by the Daily Echo if he intends his performances to be sending a message to his parent club after scoring versus Brentford, he responded: “Of course you know that you need to send messages to everywhere.

“That’s just me, but I’m just focussing on myself and I’m not too fussed on what other players from other clubs are doing.

“It’s obviously good to be on level with some big names and it’s an honour but like I said it’s just about focussing on myself, and just trying to keep pushing forward.”

He continued: “Of course there’s a bit of sending a message to Chelsea a little bit, it’s my parent club, to the coach and everyone.

“But it’s just an honour to have these opportunities (with Saints) and I’m thankful for that every day.”

Saints CEO Martin Semmens remains in close contact with Chelsea over any potential deal for Broja, with the Saints hierarchy revealing they will explore any options available.

Hasenhuttl said that Broja’s family are “very, very keen,” for the international to remain at St Mary’s for longer.
