SAINTS scouts were reportedly among a number of Premier League clubs watching Aberdeen’s Calvin Ramsay last night versus Rangers.
Ramsay is an 18-year-old right-back who has become a bit of a sensation in the Scottish Premiership, already awarded his Scotland under-21 international debut.
The youngster has made 13 Premiership appearances this season with his side sixth in the division, and played every contest in their Europa Conference League qualifying run back in the summer.
Previous reports had linked the likes of Liverpool to a potential £4million move – a price range and player profile that would meet the agenda of Saints under Sport Republic.

World football writer James Nalton has now reported that Saints were joined by Manchester United, Spurs, Leicester and Leeds in watching the teenager take on Rangers on Tuesday.

Aberdeen drew 1-1 with the defending champions but Ramsay himself was often undone by tricky winger Ryan Kent, before the former Liverpool Englishman got himself sent off after Ramsay had been subbed.
The young defender missed two months of the campaign between mid-October and mid-December with a hamstring injury, and has only played three matches since his return.
He could still be getting back to up speed, after such an impressive breakout 2021.
Saints, however, could be without their own teenage star right-back in Tino Livramento for an extened period, if his knee meniscus injury worsens.
The club hope that Livramento, who is back in individual training now, will not require surgery with a lengthy recovery period.
If he does, Ramsay could provide an alternative that would suit Ralph Hasenhuttl's current plans.
Born in July 2003, academy graduate Ramsay is contracted with Aberdeen until summer 2024.
