RALPH Hasenhuttl admitted that Jack Grealish and Saints midfielder Oriol Romeu “had a conversation,” in the tunnel following their on-pitch spat in the 1-1 draw at St Mary’s.

The English international was on the receiving end of a bad tackle from Jan Bednarek – for which the Pole was booked – and Romeu leant in to have some words while the dribbler was on the deck.

It resulted in the former Aston Villa talisman climbing to his feet and shoving Romeu in frustration, as several teammates of each side got involved.

Hasenhuttl then revealed after the match that Grealish “waited in the tunnel” to chat with Romeu after the full-time whistle.

He would not reveal details about what was said, though, admitting: “Nothing what I should speak about here, they had a conversation and everything is good.”

Grealish arrived at the Premier League champions in a £100million summer move, but is yet to really stamp his authority on Pep Guardiola’s team with just two goals in 16 league appearances.

The 26-year-old has been capped 18 times for England, under manager Gareth Southgate.

Hasenhuttl added: “Yes, (it is difficult) because he is playing a different position. He has to play in the centre now and yeah, this is not so easy for him.

“I think against us it is always a little bit more difficult because we are ball orientated and this means you always have to play against two or three men at the same time.

“this is not so easy for him and makes it harder for him with his dribbling, but he is still a fantastic player and I am sure that he will also be the future and have a big impact at City.”
