CIRENCESTER Town confirmed their title credentials with a 2-0 win over AFC Totton, writes Benjamin Rees.
The hosts started brightly and took an early lead when Ellison Dunton steered home a deep free-kick at the back post.
The goal fired up the visitors, who pushed forward with intensity but were denied by a combination of Alexander Harris in the home net, numerous last-gasp blocks and Sam Griffin twice hitting the woodwork, as the Centurions maintained their 1-0 lead into the break.
Cirencester grabbed a second goal early in the second half, Joseph Shepherd firing past Lewis Noice.
Despite late pressure from the Stags the home side controlled the game from there to emerge at the front of the promotion pack.
Totton sit third in Southern League Division One South, nine points off Circenester, ahead of a clash at fifth-placed Sholing on Tuesday (7.45pm).
