TRANSFER guru Fabrizio Romano has reported that he understands Saints are set to launch a record £25m bid for Armando Broja “soon”.

Saints are keen to keep the 20-year-old Albanian striker at St Mary’s beyond his season-long loan from Chelsea.

However, after five Premier League goals already, media interest in the youngster has skyrocketed and multiple reports have emerged.

One report linked Broja with interest from West Ham, while Chelsea’s position on the youngster’s future is still unclear with Thomas Tuchel a big admirer.

Romano, who has grown an enormous online following (6.5million) for his transfer insight, says Saints are preparing to submit their transfer proposal soon.

He tweeted: “Understand Southampton are now expected to launch a £25m record bid for Albanian striker Armando Broja.

“Proposal to be submitted soon.

“Let's see Chelsea position - as Thomas Tuchel is a big admirer of Broja. He's our player", Tuchel said few days ago.”

The proposed permanent deal for Broja would surpass the deals outlay for the likes of Danny Ings, Sadio Mane and Guido Carrillo.

However, manager Ralph Hasenhuttl has previously stated his desire to keep the situation under control and insisted that there is no rush to get a deal done.

Last week, he said: “To be honest, it doesn’t affect me massively because I know that he is here until the end of the season.

"We have enough time to talk to them (Chelsea), to talk about our future with him.

“Let this guy play football. Let this guy do his job.

“I think it’s very important for the young players that they can develop their game in a sort of calmness – not in these hectic rumours that are around.

“It doesn’t help any young player, especially not him.

“This is what we try to do, we try to calm everything down because he should concentrate on his job and this is what he is here for.”

To add, conflicting Daily Mail reports today suggested that Saints are not preparing an offer for Broja.

They detail that there are no talks about a permanent deal for this month, despite Hasenhuttl's ongoing interest.
