RALPH Hasenhuttl has had a rejuvenated squad training under him ahead of the FA Cup clash with Coventry City this weekend, with Tino Livramento making a first appearance of 2022.

The 19-year-old prodigy has been sidelined with a meniscus injury in his knee sustained at the end of last year, but has now been pictured in training with the rest of the squad.

The Austrian boss had earlier revealed that he wanted Livramento back as soon as possible to add depth to his squad.

But his return has likely been cautious, with Saints wondering at one point whether for the former Chelsea lad would need surgery which could keep him out for up to a year.

As well as Livramento, 23-year-old winger Moussa Djenepo has also been pictured following his return from Cameroon and the Africa Cup of Nations.

The Malian international was subject to reports linking him to a Turkey move on deadline day, but none of that came to be and he remains a part of Hasenhuttl’s Saints squad.

Midfielder Will Smallbone, 21, has made a return following his calf injury.

Joining them are at least three B team youngsters. With Dynel Simeu now out on loan at League Two Carlisle United, 17-year-old defender Thierry Small and Belgian attacking midfielder Kazeem Olaigbe continue to train with the first-team.

This week, they have been joined by midfielder Jack Turner, who was extremely impressive in the middle of the part during Saints B’s Premier League 2 win over Middlesbrough last time out.

Turner is 19-years-old and has battled back from an injury-scuppered campaign to put himself at the forefront of Dave Horseman and Hasenhuttl’s thoughts.

The trio could be involved on Saturday, when Championship Coventry visit St Mary’s, if Hasenhuttl chooses to rotate.

It leaves Hasenhuttl with an almost entirely fit squad, but for Alex McCarthy who could still be continuing his recovery. The boss addresses media at 1PM today.
