EASTLEIGH confirm that young defender Tom Bragg has signed a two-year contract extension with the club, to remain at the Silverlake Stadium until the end of the 2023-23 season.

The central defender is a graduate from the Spitfires’ Elite Development Squad scholarship programme, and made his senior debut as a late substitute in the National League versus Weymouth last month.

Bragg, who later moved to Scotland for his scholarship with Hibernian, is a former Saints academy youngster and brother of Saints' Cameron Bragg.

Upon securing his future with the Hampshire club, Tom Bragg told the club website: "I'm really excited and happy to sign this deal, and it's now time to kick on.

"This year has taught me so much already when I think of myself from the start of the year to now. Having experienced players around me like Andrew Boyce and Tom Broadbent has helped me improve so much and I'm learning every day.

"My goal is to push into the first team and keep progressing in the right way."

Eastleigh’s Interim Manager and head of youth development, Jason Bristow, added: "We're really pleased to extend Tom's deal here at the club. In his first year as a first team professional we have been really impressed with the way he has applied himself and developed his game.

"He is always willing to learn and is a great young player on and off the pitch. We hope that Tom will continue to improve and can play a part for us in the future."
