HAMPSHIRE announce a new contract for player pathway graduate Mason Crane, extending his stay at The Ageas Bowl until at least the end of 2024.

Crane made his first-team debut in 2015 and has become an influential member of the squad since.

He became the youngest Hampshire player to record a five-wicket haul in a County Championship clash with Warwickshire, just weeks after making his debut for the club.

Crane later received international recognition courtesy of a call-up to England’s IT20 side in the summer of 2017, before making his test debut as part of their squad for the 2017/18 Ashes series in Australia.

Upon signing his new deal, Crane said: “I’m very happy to have signed a contract extension here at Hampshire.

“I've really enjoyed my time at Hampshire so it was an easy decision to extend my stay and I’m looking forward to pushing for silverware.”

Last season the 25-year-old was crucial in the Vitality Blast as the Hawks made it to final’s day, taking 16 wickets.

Giles White, Hampshire director of cricket added: “We are delighted that Mason has committed his future to Hampshire.

“He has developed into a vital member of our squad and we are confident that he will contribute to any successes we have in the future.”
