AFC TOTTON’S title hopes were dealt a bitter blow as Larkhall Athletic were stunned by a last-gasp winner in a 2-1 defeat, writes Benjamin Rees.
A fractured first half produced few chances at Snows Stadium, with both sides lacking fluency.
The Stags started strongly in the second half without reward, and were made to pay when Alex Lambert fired past Lewis Noice.
The home side responded instantly, with Sam Griffin on hand to head home the rebound from Hisham Kasimu’s spilled shot.
Lambert was sent off after punting the ball away, following being given offside, to pick up a needless second booking.
Totton searched for a winner, but their hearts were broken deep in stoppage time when Josh Jones rose highest to head home a corner and pilfer the three points.
