STRUGGLING Bideford AFC pulled off a shock 1-0 victory over play-off chasing AFC Totton, writes Benjamin Rees.
After the two sides met at the Snows Stadium three days ago, with Totton taking all three points, Bideford aimed to reverse the result on Tuesday.
The Robins got off to a flyer four minutes in, with some dazzling interplay before Matthew Buchan curled in a sublime opener from outside the area.
The hosts kicked on from there, and should have extended their lead in the second half, only to be thwarted by last-ditch heroics from Lewis Noice and the Stags defence, as well as the offside flag.
Bideford dominated the frequent aerial exchanges, and defended resolutely on the way to a battling and well-earned three points.
Totton sit fifth, just inside the Southern League Division One South play-off spots on goal difference.
With five games to play, Jimmy Ball's side head to Paulton Rovers on Saturday.
