BOSS Marieanne Spacey-Cale was keen to praise the work of the players around in-form Lucia Kendall, after her brace helped Saints lift the League Cup.

Kendall struck twice in the second half, adding to Alisha Ware's opener, as Saints dispatched of Huddersfield Town 3-0 at Damson Park in Solihull.

That win made it two trophies for the week for Spacey-Cale's side, who also lifted the Southern Premier title by beating Portsmouth a few days earlier.

Kendall also scored in that one, making it five appearances in a row in which she has found the net for Saints.

"You've got to get the balls into the positions where she can score those goals," boss Spacey-Cale told the club's website, when asked about Kendall's goal streak.

"Lucia is absolutely in red-hot form at the moment and we want that to continue for her.

"But it's also the structure and team around her.

"She's the one getting all the headlines at the moment, but the squad are working so hard and giving her the opportunity and the springboard."

Saints return to action tonight against Oxford United in the first of their final two league matches.

The champions then host Cardiff City on Sunday, before the big play-off final against Wolverhampton Wanderers on May 21, with promotion at stake.
