LIVERPOOL boss Jurgen Klopp hopes star duo Mo Salah and Virgil van Dijk will “both be fine” ahead of Tuesday’s Premier League showdown at Saints.

Egyptian ace Salah sat down on the pitch holding his groin during Saturday’s FA Cup final against Chelsea at Wembley. He walked off to be replaced by Diogo Jota.

Former Saints star van Dijk was brought off before extra-time with a knee problem. Liverpool went on to win on penalties after a goalless draw.

Asked post-match for an update on both players, Klopp said: "I spoke to both of them after the game and both are really okay.

“All we know is that it's not a big thing but the next game is on Tuesday. I think they will both be fine."

Van Dijk, who was replaced by Joel Matip on 90 minutes, told ITV: "We're going to check it out. I felt in the first half when I sprinted, I felt a twinge behind my knee, I played on.

"In the end, I can't risk it for the team and I need to trust Joel. Hopefully it will be fine."

Liverpool are already set to be without Fabinho for the trip to St Mary’s with the Brazilian nursing a hamstring problem.
