TALENTED Saints youngster Kazeem Olaigbe has been named on an eight-man shortlist for the Premier League 2 player of the season award.
Olaigbe has impressed for Dave Horseman's B team this season, scoring 12 goals and providing four assists from his 23 matches.
The 19-year-old was also part of a senior matchday squad for the first time this season, named as an unused substitute for January's FA Cup win over Swansea City.
The Belgium-born talent in February penned a new deal at Saints, keeping him at the club until 2024.
Olaigbe has been nominated for the award alongside Conor Bradley (Liverpool), Sonny Hilton (Fulham), Dilan Markanday (Tottenham), James McAtee (Man City), Jesurun Rak-Sakyi (Crystal Palace) Abu Kamara and Tom Dickson-Peters (both Norwich).
Nominees were selected by the Premier League Football Development Panel after Premier League 2 club coaches nominated the best performances by opposing players throughout the season.
The panel also decide the winner, which will be announced next week.
