PUNDIT pair Michael Owen and Mark Lawrenson feel Saints' struggles will extend into the Premier League's final round of fixtures tomorrow.

Ralph Hasenhuttl's men have recorded just one win from their past 12 matches, losing nine.

That run has seen them both exit the FA Cup, against Manchester City at the quarter-final stage, and slump to 15th in the Premier League table.

Should results go against them tomorrow, Saints could finish 16th on 40 points, one place and three points worse off than last season.

They head to King Power Stadium to face mid-table Leicester City (4pm).

Looking ahead to Saints' clash with Brendan Rodgers's Foxes, former Real Madrid and England striker Owen predicted a win to Leicester in his latest blog for BetVictor.

"Leicester’s form has picked in the last month or so, and it’s been a reminder of how good this side can be," said Owen.

"The likes of (James) Maddison and (Jamie) Vardy have been playing well and will be a threat here.

"Southampton’s form has been really poor recently. They narrowly lost to Liverpool on Tuesday, but it was a much-changed Liverpool side. I think it will be a big summer for the club.

"I’ve got to tip Leicester here. This should be straightforward, 2-0."

Meanwhile former Liverpool defender Lawrenson, completing his last-ever round of Premier League predictions for BBC Sport, concurred with the 2-0 scoreline, saying: "These are two of the most inconsistent teams we have seen in the Premier League all season, which has made their results very difficult to predict.

"I always have a bit more confidence in Leicester when Jamie Vardy is fit and in the kind of form he is showing at the moment though, and the Foxes are at home here too.

"It has been a disappointing ending to the season for Southampton, who have won only one of their past 11 league games.

"Even so, they have never for one moment looked like being dragged into the relegation scrap so I don't get why their manager Ralph Hasenhuttl is coming under pressure from Saints fans.

"What are they expecting him to do?"
