RALPH Hasenhuttl explained “it’s typical” for Adam Armstrong after the forward played on through a head injury to try and help his team.
The 25-year-old suffered a collision with Leicester City defender Jonny Evans during the eventual 4-1 defeat at King Power Stadium.
Saints players were incensed in calling over medical staff to assist Armstrong, with blood pouring from the summer signing’s eyebrow.
He was bandaged up, assessed by the club doctor and, despite having taken a clear heavy blow to the head, was allowed to carry on.
But soon after in the 63rd minute, Armstrong dropped to the floor in the middle of the pitch and it became obvious he was not able to continue.
“You must ask the doc,” Hasenhuttl responded, when asked by the Daily Echo how he passed the initial concussion assessment.
Actually thought there was a lot to like about Adam Armstrong's performance today.

With virtually no support he made things happen for himself and Leicester really struggled against his pace and willingness to run with the ball.
Fresh start next season.#SaintsFC
“Normally there are rules when you go through this with asking questions or whatever but the players are so under pressure and full of adrenaline - they still know their name but are not fully there.”
He continued: “It’s typical for Arma because he always wants to fight for the team and give everything.
“I haven’t seen him. He has a few stitches and it doesn’t look good.”
Armstrong was making his second start in the last three Premier League matches, after he saw a third Saints goal disallowed during the 3-0 defeat at Brentford.
The £15million arrival showed glimpses of quality and endeavor in an otherwise uninspiring Saints performance at Leicester City.
He will hope to play an increased role next season, with only three Premier League starts since the turn of 2022, if on-loan Armando Broja returns to Chelsea.
